The model L, introduced in 1921, was advertised as the "Liliputian ... the little piano for the little amusement place."  It quickly became Seeburg's bestseller during the Prohibition years.  (Seeburg made an orchestrion also designated an "L," which was discontinued when the smaller L was introduced.)
